The museum has installed a new display of the Carmen Thyssen Collection in its galleries on the ground floor. It now has a direct entrance from the main hall which is separate to that of the permanent collection. This new location and presentation will allow the collection to be rediscovered, now with a more coherent, global vision. The display is chronological, starting with 17th century Dutch painting and concluding with 20th century art. Include works by Canaletto, Fragonard, Courbet, Boudin, Monet, Sisley, Renoir, Degas, Gauguin, Rodin, Matisse, Picasso and Kirchner, amongst others.
