Since 2020, the IMD has set its focus on different United Nations Sustainable Development Goals in order to highlight the role that museums play in achieving them. In 2023, under the slogan "Museums, sustainability and wellbeing", the IMD focuses on global health and well-being, climate action and life on Earth. The museum joins the celebration with an open day and special activities.
