A route through the collection. Games of persuasion and artifice
Taking as a starting point the temporary exhibition Hyperreal. The Art of Trompe l’Oeil, a new online course is being held as part of the route through the collection programme.
From the classical ideal of mimetic representation, which seeks to be as faithful as possible to reality, to the multiple overwhelming effects sought by some artists through a host of plays on appearances: mirrors and reflections, anamorphosis, shadows, duplicates and simulacra, pictures within pictures and other nested frames… Throughout history, these games of persuasion, ingenuity and artifice have provided different ways of looking at and relating to the world based on images, making it possible to ‘trick the viewer’s eye’.
The course is given by teacher María Cunillera via Microsoft Teams.
