Focus on the work: Self-portrait by Gabriele Münter

The February edition of Focus on the Work, an activity exclusively for Friends, centres on Self-portrait by the German artist Gabriele Münter.

Marta Ruiz del Árbol, curator of Modern Painting at the Museum and curator of the retrospective devoted to the artist currently being organised for this autumn, will lead the participants’ conversation on this work, painted around 1908, as the starting point for a discussion on the life and work of one of the most important 20th-century German women artists and a member of the Blaue Reiter [Blue Rider] Expressionist group.
