Only programmed between 18 and 25 April, a guided tour will offer a survey of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza’s collections focused on the experience of travel and in conjunction with the premiere at the Teatro Real of the opera Nixon in China (1987) by John Adams.

This activity reveals how travel inspires and transforms us, as in the case of the protagonists of Adams’s opera. Taking the form of a survey of works in the collection, it will reflect on travel as a process of personal maturing while examining what travel signified at different historical periods, with a particular emphasis on contacts with the East.
