III Autumn Conference on Cultural Law. Culture and Sustainable Development in the City
In collaboration with the museum, the Fundación Gabeiras is organising the third edition of this annual event devoted to addressing the common goals shared by cultural rights and the promotion of sustainability.
As the SDG 11 (Sustainable Development Goal) indicates, models for cities should aspire to be more inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable. Aside from the problems of coexistence generated by the contemporary logic of cities (emissions, waste, segregation, marginalisation, etc.,) in this encounter professionals from the cultural sector, the state sector and sustainability experts will thus explore opportunities for the development of more sustainable cities capable of guaranteeing cultural rights to a greater extent.
This study day is divided into two principal sessions:
In the morning session, for professionals only, there will be two round tables. These will provide an opportunity to reflect on cultural policies aimed at encouraging progress towards models aligned with sustainable development and on the urban context and sustainability.
In the afternoon session, open to the public (prior booking required), leading names in the fields of culture and law will debate cultural rights, sustainability and the SDG 11 in cities and communities; cultural policies, resources and impact evaluations; and finally, the city, gentrification and touristification, and cultural vectors.
