Lecture series: the Baron and the Collection of the Museo Nacional Thyssen-Bornemisza
Lecture
- 22, 27 and 29 April, 4, 6, 11, 13, 19, 20 and 25 May 2021
How did Hans Heinrich Thyssen-Bornemisza assemble the collection that became part of Spain’s cultural patrimony in 1993? To mark the centenary of the Baron’s birth the museum is offering art lovers a reassessment of its collections from the perspective of their founder’s activities. Curators and restorers at the museum, who have spent decades studying the collection from within, will be giving ten lectures that will analyse a range of different aspects of the Baron’s endeavours as a collector.
