In conjunction with the loan of The frugal Meal (1904) by Pablo Picasso to the exhibition Art and Social Change in Spain (1885-1910) at the Museo del Prado, we are organising a private tour of that exhibition. Participants will discover the role of art in the processes of transformation of Spanish society between the late 19^th and early 20^th centuries.

During this turbulent period art evolved towards new themes and styles including naturalism, which justified the depiction of subjects from everyday life and constructed a contemporary social reality, presenting aspects that had never previously been the focus of artistic investigation.
