Tintoretto. Study and restoration of The Paradise
This project, in partnership with Bank of America, involves the restoration of the painting on the basis of an exhaustive preliminary study. The decision was taken to restore The Paradise in order to control deterioration suffered over time, to guarantee its future preservation and to recover its visual balance to the greatest degree possible.
In addition to the importance of the work undertaken by the Museum’s restoration team, from the preliminary analyses to the “live” restoration of the painting, this project has also set out to involve visitors in the entire process. For this reason, and coinciding with the Museum’s 20th Anniversary, the restorers’ work has taken place in front of the public for the first time, allowing visitors to see the technical and artistic results in real time.
