Ragnar Kjartansson. Emotional Landscapes

The Museo Thyssen-Bornemisza and Thyssen-Bornemisza Art Contemporary are presenting Emotional Landscapes, an exhibition by the Icelandic artist Ragnar Kjartansson (born Reykjavik, 1976) which for the first time brings together four of his most internationally renowned video installations, The Visitors (2012), The Man (2010), The End (2009) and God (2007), in addition to a series of watercolours. The exhibition conveys Kjartansson’s fascination with America, its landscapes and music through works set on a farm by the Hudson River and in the Rocky Mountains, accompanied by blues and jazz. It makes use of the museum’s new installation entitled American Art from the Thyssen Collection to establish dialogues with 19^th and 20^th century paintings.
