Max Beckmann symposium
22 and 23 November 2018
Despite being one of the most important European painters of the twentieth century, Max Beckmann is still relatively unknown in Spain. To remedy this lack of knowledge, as a complement to the exhibition devoted to the artist, the museum is organising a symposium where six specialists on his work – among them Didier Ottinger of the Centre Pompidou in Paris and Sabine Rewald of the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, as well as the exhibition’s curator Tomàs Llorens – analyse various aspects of Beckmann’s career from the latest perspective.
