One-day conference on American Impressionism
Lecture
- 12 December 2014
The Museum was staging a one-day art conference in connection with the American Impressionism exhibition in order to further knowledge and debate on this phenomenon that is so little known in our country. The aim was to examine in depth the experiences of American painters in Paris, London and Giverny through expert speakers such as Katherine Bourguignon, the exhibition’s curator; Erica Hirshler, curator of American Paintings at the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston; and Mary T. Lewis, art critic and Associate Professor of Fine Arts at Trinity College in Hartford, Connecticut.
