Private guided tour for Friends for the exhibition Monet and Abstraction
Guided visit
- From 28 february to 8 March 2010
February of 2010 saw the opening of this season’s major exhibition at the Museum: Monet and Abstraction. It offered an overview of the work of the great French painter from the viewpoint of its relationship with the development of abstract painting. Once again, Friends were offered an exclusive, private guided tour of this temporary exhibition, in which an accompanying art historian explained the fascinating dialogue that arose between the Impressionist master and the generation of young Abstract Expressionist painters –Jackson Pollock, Mark Rothko, Willem de Kooning and Gerhard Richter, among others– who rediscovered Monet’s art around the middle of the 20th century.
