The museum is once again taking part in “Madrid Otra Mirada” (MOM), an event organised by the City Council to promote the Spanish capital’s cultural heritage, making its contribution in the form of a guided tour devoted to Architecture and the idea of citizenship

Architecture is a theme frequently interpreted in painting, either as the setting for a narrative or as the absolute protagonist of the work, enabling us to learn about its development as a genre and discover the changes it has undergone over time. In addition, architecture seen as an integral agent of the urban space has shaped the idea of the city and citizenship over the centuries, becoming an ideological reflection of the cultural evolution of humanity.

The guided tour Architecture and the idea of citizenship presents the evolution and social function of architecture through works from the museum’s collections, which become a reflection of the thought and lifestyles of different periods and of the idea of citizenship.
