The latest edition of Focus on the Work will introduce Friends to the enigmatic work Portrait of a Man from the Island of Dominica (?) by the circle of Sir Joshua Reynolds (?).

In this on-site activity, Clara Marcellán, curator of Modern Painting at the museum, will describe and explain the research project focused on this painting, which started in 2017 with the aim of identifying the sitter and the artist. She will also analyse the clothing, the pictorial style and other issues that are not yet totally resolved.
